Furniture ecommerce: 100K+ impressions per day

A large Finnish furniture ecommerce store lost organic visibility after a site redesign. On-page SEO, category content and consulting for the in-house team recovered and exceeded prior impression levels, reaching 100K+ impressions per day.

Situation

A high-volume furniture store, thousands of SKUs, hundreds of category pages. Then a redesign changed the URLs, the templates and the category structure all at once. Impressions and clicks fell away. It is the classic post-migration loss, and there was no appetite whatsoever for a second rebuild.

The internal team could ship changes themselves. What they lacked was direction: what to fix first, and what the category pages actually needed to say. An agency in the middle would only have slowed every publish cycle.

What was done

  • Post-redesign audit. Indexed URL inventory, redirect gaps, template-level SEO issues and category cannibalisation mapped.
  • On-page SEO. Title tags, meta descriptions and heading structure for priority category and product templates.
  • Category content. Unique intro copy and faceted-navigation guidance so listing pages could rank without thin duplicates.
  • Technical consulting. Briefed the dev team on crawl budget, internal linking and indexation fixes.
  • Prioritised rollout. Highest-traffic categories first, measured after each batch.
  • Reporting. Impression and click trends in Search Console tracked weekly during recovery.

Results

Organic impressions recovered to 100K+ per day, past pre-redesign levels, once the category and template work compounded. The site returned to serving catalogue-scale search demand without a second platform migration.

How it was measured

Google Search Console, comparing daily impressions and supporting click data against both the post-redesign trough and the pre-redesign baseline. Category-level filters confirmed which template and content batches moved first.

Why it transfers: this was large-catalogue ecommerce in Finland, but a redesign breaks indexation the same way anywhere. The same recovery playbook applies after UAE store migrations. See ecommerce SEO in Dubai.
